Farvie Grenache

Swinney Vineyards Farvie Grenache is a rare and exceptional expression of Western Australian Grenache. It is handpicked from established bush vines on the winery's Frankland River vineyard.

Only the best one or two bunches are selected from each vine. The grapes are gravity fed to a French oak vat with a small percentage left as whole bunches. There is a small addition of Mourvèdre.

After wild yeast fermentation and 10 days on skins, the wine is basket pressed directly to large format, fine grained, seasoned French oak. It is aged for almost a year before being bottled without fining and only minimal filtration.

Deep crimson, Swinney Vineyards Farvie Grenache is profoundly aromatic, with its palate built around ripe fruit flavours, ferrous minerality and long, drying tannins.

A contemporary Grenache. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
